The Ipswich Showgrounds Event Centre will evoke the atmosphere of a department store from days gone by this weekend.
The 34th Ipswich Antique and Collectables Fair returns this Saturday (June 25) from 7am-2pm.
The Fair will offer a range of Heritage, Retro and Deco items that can join a collection or start one.
Ipswich stall holder Greg Ough will be among those selling their wares at the Fair.
“It’s the longest running (antiques) fair in Queensland,” he said.
Among items Mr Ough will have for sale are a circa 1910 Persian samovar (for serving tea) and a smaller English one (circa 1920s).
“With the Persian one, you can put coal in tits burner. You add the hot water and the coal will keep the water hot,” he explained.
“With the English one, you can add a burner at the bottom.”
He also has a ‘land’ telescope (circa 1880s) of the type used by seamen.
Mr Ough has been selling antiques for over 30 years and sources it “from everywhere”.
“You just have to know where to look for it,” he said.
