Our city has a long history of a love affair with cars, with lapping in town rumoured to have started back in the horse and cart days.
I believe it started in the 70s when Brisbane and Limestone Streets became one way, making a rectangular circuit.
Next Saturday evening, on April 29, a number of classic cars will be on display in Nicholas Street, and I’ve heard a number of car lovers have also booked Top of Town restaurants to see the event.
This is sure to bring in other car lovers to see what’s on offer, and I’m looking forward to seeing the CBD full of people.
