MANY might be keen to scratch the name Paul Pisasale from the Ipswich history books, but the benefits from some of his hard work for the area lives on.
The former mayor threw all his weight some years ago behind trying lure a growing country music festival called CMC Rocks to town.
His vision was that it could become one of Ipswich’s biggest events and it would bring millions of extra dollars to local retailers with it.
He was right and the success of CMC Rocks 2022 with more than 22,000 attending daily over four days proved his vision was spot on.
Top of Town retailers and businesses have been supporting this double page promotion for a year to show what the city centre has to offer and CMC revellers discovered it in the hundreds.
Our history is the biggest selling point we have to attract visitors to Ipswich and it’s the heart of the city where it is on show.
New shops and fancy facades are all well and good, but the walk past the historic buildings in the Top of Town is what visitors want to experience.
