THE fund-raising program to build a centre to house family support group DADS continues next month with a Parental Alienation Awareness Cruise at the Redlands Showgrounds on Saturday, August 20.
When completed the DADS Support centre will provide face to face support for families experiencing the effects of parental alienation, Family Court, and domestic and family violence issues.
The services the centre will provide include access to mediation, parenting programs and paralegal administration support for the preparation of court documents and Legal Aid applications.
Emergency food parcels, furniture and whitegoods for families relocating due to domestic and family violence will also be provided through the centre.
The second annual Parental Alienation Awareness Cruise day will deliver one of the largest car, bike and truck cruise’s Brisbane has seen.
The gates will open at 12pm with a line-up of Brisbane’s best food trucks and live entertainment by local Redlands artists.
The performer will be DADS Ambassador, Jarred Taylor, all the way from the Tamworth, Australia’s Country Music Capital.
The entertainment doesn’t stop there with carnival attractions for the kids, market stalls and a licensed pop-up bar “Vintage on Tap”. A fireworks spectacular will light up the sky at 8pm.
There will also be free entry for all kids under 15 years of age.
