THE Ipswich Lockyer Greens are hosting a “’Swich to Green” community art competition and exhibition to celebrate World Environment Day on June 5.
The theme for World Environment Day this year is “Beat Plastic Pollution”.
Community members of all ages can enter the art competition.
The only limitation for entries is the size – up to and including A5 postcard size entries only.
All mediums are welcome: photography, oil/acrylic paints, watercolour, pencil sketches, collage, 3D works, sculpture, fibre arts, sewing, embroidery, punch needling are just some examples to get your creativity flowing.
All entries will be displayed at the Ipswich Community Art Gallery in d’Arcy Doyle Place in the Ipswich CBD.
Community members and art competition participants are welcome to attend the opening night gala on Friday, June 2.
Judging will take place at the opening night gala and winners announced on the night. There are cash prizes on offer for first and second place and a further 10 winners will be selected for inclusion in a promotional calendar which will go on sale later this year.
