Council will be replacing the tops of two existing gully units in front of 18 to 21 Joanne Street and 14 to 16 Noela Street.

The new gully units will have a larger catchment area and help storm water flow away more quickly.

Works are expected to start late June and continue to mid-July, weather permitting.

New bus stop

The bus stop on Ripley Road at Flinders View is being upgraded.

The works will improve accessibility for people with a disability.

They include demolition of the existing bus stop, construction of a new disability compliant bus shelter and the laying of new turf.

A temporary bus stop will be in place throughout the works, which are expected to be finished late June.

Dog off-leash area

A new dog off-leash area at Camira Recreation Park is almost complete.

The project is expected to be finished by Friday, June 9.

It includes construction of dedicated large and small dog areas at the existing dog off-leash area.

College’s Crossing

The concept design for the reconstruction of flood-damaged Colleges Crossing Recreation Reserve in Chuwar met with strong community support and will now progress to final design.

More than 600 residents completed an online survey and the majority agreed with council’s proposal to return Colleges Crossing to a simpler design with fewer permanent structures that could be damaged by any future floods.”

Free fun day

A free family fun day is on Saturday, June 10 at Hardings Paddock in the Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate.

There will be everything from a bird walk and wildlife shows.
