WORK has begun on the new $85m Bellbird Park primary school, with Education Minister Grace Grace joining Foundation Principal Roger Sheehan to turn the sod.

The project will deliver state-of-the-art facilities for the start of the next school year in one of the fastest growing areas in South-East Queensland.

Set to feature a multi-purpose hall and an information and resource centre, all classrooms, staff rooms and library spaces will be air conditioned as part of the construction project.

Minister Grace Grace said the Bellbird school will join Ripley Central State School and Ripley Valley State Secondary School as another new, state-of-the-art education facility in this growing part of Queensland.

Bellbird Park Foundation Principal Roger Sheehan said he was honoured to be the first principal at the school and looked forward to leading what will become a vibrant and inclusive community.

“Our team will ensure every student has the opportunity to excel and that our community will be at the heart of all we do”.
