IN recent years, many families wouldn’t bother with trying to repair garments which had perhaps ripped seams or broken zippers.

It seemed for most it was easier to march down to the shops and buy new clothes.

Sometimes, however, your love for that comfortable garment meant you went searching for someone to fix it for you, hoping that you could get it done at a fair and reasonable cost.

Former dressmaker, Miriam Worsnop, who lives in Bundamba has continued her love of sewing by offering a clothing and repair service.

The best news about Miriam’s alterations business is that it covers any repair needed.

That includes repairing zippers, adjusting lengths and even altering clothing for disability needs.

As the budget squeezes us all a little tighter over the past 12 months Miriam has seen a boost to her operation as families try to get a little extra out of that favourite dress or pair of school pants.
