IT’S amazing what a little TLC and a new coat of paint can do for an old pub.

The Commercial Hotel in Harrisville’s main street was recently taken over by new owners and they wasted no time in their efforts to bring the pub back to its former glory.

Ipswich’s S&D Painters were called in to rejuvenate the hotel and according to the new publicans produced an outstanding result in the two weeks it took them to complete it.

The Hotel was built in 1939 and was purchased recently by Steve Rock and PJ and they will soon be given it a new name.

It is temporarily closed while renovations are taking place.

The facelift is just the first part in their plans for the 84-year-old pub.

Steve said S&D did such an outstanding job he has now booked them to paint his home.

The project was Steve Mulford’s final major job after he started S & D with his wife Di in 1983.

The company continues on with his daughter Taneale and her husband, Brad, taking over.
