IPSWICH and the Gold Coast’s comical independent film “Double or Nothing” is now complete and ready to make its mark.

Featuring some of Australia’s most renowned actors like John Jarratt, Vince Colosimo, Robert Rabiah and Steve Mouzakis, it includes scenes shot at the Ipswich Turf Club.

The film captures a retro Queensland vibe coupled with a light-hearted action-packed narrative amid surf, sand and the laid-back allure of board shorts and sunny days.

Director Dru Brown of Brown Python Films celebrates the culmination of an extensive effort that spotlights some well-known Australian actors, splashed among a line-up of promising local talent.

“We’ve woven a story here in our local area that echoes the vibrancy and pulse of our community.

“The narrative channels a vibe reminiscent of 90’s classics, like ‘Two Hands’ and ‘The Big Lebowski’.” according to Dru.

With an extensive backdrop of locations in and around Ipswich and the Gold Coast, the film subtly but distinctly nods to the beauty and talent of the iconic region.

Nicole Payten-Betts, not just the film’s Producer but also one of its stars, emphasises the regional touch,

“The character of the local area and its community reflects through the entire film. It’s been an honour to engage with so many local businesses and talents from Southeast Queensland over the duration of this project.”

While “Double or Nothing” finds itself in discussions for a streaming partnership, the film’s team is putting out a call to arms for local support.

They urge the community to rally behind this local gem by following the official “Double or Nothing”

Facebook movie page, sharing updates, and immersing in the film’s chaotic humour.

Swept up in the vibrant and sun-soaked hues of Queensland, “Double or Nothing” spins a light-hearted tale of two cousins who embark on a high-energy race against the clock to find $50k when the mob discover one of them has been skimming from their Gold Coast workshop.
