Each year our city has home owners that light their yard to spread Christmas cheer and happiness to appreciative on lookers.

Katelyn and Andy have been working on their yard for months and have more than 4.5km of light strands comprising more than 100,000 LED lights. Their house will light up every night till Christmas from 6.30pm at 1 Paul Tully Ave at Collingwood Park.

We were fortunate to see their lights for the first time and they have a spectacular display that needs to be on everyone’s Christmas lights itinerary.

I used to enjoy taking the kids to see the displays, and now I love taking the grandkids. Thank you to everyone that decorated their house. I love it .

From bus stop to gallery

Robin “Tallman” Wakkajinda has painted the bus seats in Bell Street with his colourful art work. It was good to see his work on display in the Community Art Gallery last week.

We have many talented artists in our city, and it’s good to see their work on display. The new Mental Health Unit has a beautiful Kylie Stevens piece in the foyer.

Kitsch on sale

The Ipswich Showgrounds are hosting themed twilight markets once a month. Kitsch in the Swich was held on Saturday, bringing music, dance, stalls, food, rides and classic cars.

Seniors set sail

All the best to the 2023 seniors who will have their last day of school on Friday. The world is your oyster, and if you set goals and work hard to achieve them I trust you have a successful future.
