GOUT Gout has already proven to be a rising star on the track and he is likely to shoot higher when competition launches at the Queensland All Schools Athletics Competition today at QSAC.

The 16-year-old Ipswich Grammar student will hit the track fresh off inking a sponsorship deal with adidas earlier this week.

With the signing, he joins the likes of David Beckham and Patrick Mahomes who have both represented the footwear goliath.

The teen sensation has taken the world by storm and is regarded as the most exciting up and coming track athlete in Australia.

Gout won a 200m silver at the World Under-20 Championships earlier this year and was a member of Australia’s 4x100m relay team that finished fifth.

He has drawn comparisons to Usain Bolt, after breaking the age record over the 200m distance at the world championships finishing in 20.60, beating the time previously set by the Jamaican sporting icon.

Gout is sure to have eyes on the 2028 Olympics in LA having also run the 100m in 10.29.

He first captured the world’s attention at 14, becoming the holder of the 100m and 200m records for the age group.

Gout then broke the Australian under-18 men’s 200m record aged 15.

He ran 20.87 seconds to win the under-18 men’s 200m final at the Australian Junior Athletics Championships in Brisbane in April that year.

The men’s 100m event will be run on Saturday with four heats, with his “grand final” the 200m to be run on Sunday with three heats.
