THE Hotel Commonwealth was established over a century ago and its return with an official opening this weekend is highly anticipated.

Deeply rooted in Australia’s rich history, the iconic landmark has been restored to its former glory and will be opened across November 8-9.

Honouring its heritage with a modern twist, the venue has undergone a stunning transformation that beautifully blends old-world charm with contemporary comfort.

Entering the venue’s doors, you will be mesmerized by the mix of the 1910’s, with most of the original Murphy’s interior and brickwork or memories being used within the four walls.

The outside area is modern and highlighted by a long bar, drawing inspiration from Raffles in Singapore.

A private dining area inside seats 10 and with a fire place it is sure to be a favourite for whiskey tasting sessions, private meals, or intimate events.

With its rich emerald accents and railway-inspired motif, this lavish venue captures a distinctive fusion of tradition and sophistication.

Upstairs is a separate function area, called ‘The 1910’ as a homage to the time period where its inspiration is found. The function area can be separated and is named after past publications as a mark of respect to those who came before.

On the menu, guests can look forward to plenty of elevated pub classics reimagined with a gourmet flair – along with a boutique bar stocked with a curated selection of crowd-favourite beers, local wines, and signature cocktails to wash it all down.

Carefully designed to suit the needs of any occasion, The Comm is poised to quickly reclaim its status as a cherished local watering hole.

With a team of over 32 locals ready to welcome guests through their doors, Hotel Commonwealth is committed to providing an exceptional experience that reflects the warmth and spirit of the community.

Venue Manager Sarah Knopke has been truly moved by the unwavering support of Ipswich locals anticipating this weekend since the first announcement earlier this year.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to experience what we have to offer and to become a vibrant part of this community”.

Hotel Commonwealth is located in the Nicholas St Precinct at 5 Union Place and is well positioned to becoming a jewel in Ipswich’s crown.
