The rains cleared and play went ahead with the Ipswich Musketeers baseball senior’s division three team making it five wins on the bounce.

Playing host, they demolished the Redlands Rays 13-3 on Sunday afternoon, strengthening their second spot on the ladder.

The Musketeers recorded six runs in the first innings to get off to a dominant lead before notching up another six runs in the fourth and one in the sixth.

All three of the Rays’ runs were recorded in the fourth, and for the team sitting fifth on the ladder, they could not maintain pace with the home side.

The Musketeers have recorded three dominant performances over their opponents from their past four matches.

Four players have played all nine games of the season so far in Campbell Twigg, Ethan Suthers, Jeremy Suthers and Timothy Quinlan.

Round five against the Southern Stars ended in a 12-3 victory, round six against the Indians Apache (11-1), and round eight against the Toowoomba Rangers (11-1).

Round seven they kept it close and took a 6-3 win against the Beenleigh Hawks.

The Ipswich outfit now sit second with seven wins and two losses from nine games, with Mudgeeraba Redsox above them but having played one less match, maintaining a 93.75% win rate.

On Sunday, Ipswich will travel up the range to take on the Toowoomba Rangers at 9.30am in a very winnable match, with the Rangers only able to record a single win this season.
