Basketball is more than just a game – it teaches discipline, teamwork and resilience, shaping young athletes both on and off the court.
At Bremer State High School, the Bremer Basketball Academy has embodied these values, and in 2025 it has been officially recognised as a Department of Education Program of Excellence.
“This recognition is a testament to the incredible work our school has put into developing a high-quality basketball program that nurtures both athletic and academic growth,” Director of Basketball James Ringholt said.
“It’s a huge encouragement for our student-athletes, coaches, and the entire school community.”
The Academy has earned a reputation for its expert coaching, tailored training programs, and strong emphasis on balancing sports with academics.
This milestone reflects the Department of Education’s confidence in the program’s quality and impact.
“We are incredibly proud of how far the Academy has come,” Mr Ringholt said. “This achievement highlights our dedication to fostering talent and providing students with opportunities to excel in sport and life.”
With this recognition, the Academy is set to continue its mission of developing young athletes, strengthening teamwork, and empowering students to reach their full potential.
The Ipswich community can expect even greater achievements from Bremer’s rising basketball stars in the years ahead.
