IN a ground-breaking agreement, the State Government has joined forces with the Federal Government to provide all state schools in Queensland with a clear path to full and fair funding.

This historic deal ensures that Queensland’s public schools will benefit from the Better and Fairer Schools Agreement, aiming to enhance educational outcomes and support both students and teachers.

As part of the Heads of Agreement signed last week, the Commonwealth will increase its contribution to Queensland’s Schooling Resource Standard by 5 per cent, raising its share from 20 per cent to 25 per cent by 2034.

This significant move will deliver an estimated $2.8 billion in additional Commonwealth funding for Queensland state schools over the next decade.

“This is the biggest funding boost Queensland state schools have ever seen, and it’s what our students and teachers truly deserve,” said Queensland Premier David Crisafulli.

“With this funding, we are not only enhancing educational resources, but also raising the bar in classrooms across Queensland.

“Our students will benefit from world-class education, while teachers will receive the support they need to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese commended the partnership, highlighting the importance of investing in education to open doors for every Australian child.

“Every dollar of this funding will go directly into helping children learn and participate in school,” Mr Albanese said.

“Education is the key to opportunity, and this funding ensures that every student has access to the best possible learning experience.

“This agreement delivers real reform with real funding.”
