THE Ipswich Jets have continued their impressive Hostplus Cup campaign with a dominant 22-6 win over the Wynnum Manly Seagulls at BMD Kougari Oval on Saturday.

Setting the tone early, the Jets crossed twice inside the first 20 minutes through Ken Maumalo (9’) and Hayden Rowbotham (17’), with Dion Teaupa nailing both conversions to open up a 12-0 lead.

Winger Allan Fitzgibbon extended the Jets’ advantage with a try just before halftime, sending the visitors into the break leading 16-6.

The second half saw both sides grind through sets with few scoring opportunities, but the Jets held firm defensively, turning away several Seagulls’ attacking raids.

The final 22-6 result keeps the Jets firmly in the top half in fourth.

Ipswich will now host the Northern Pride on Saturday with kick-off at 2.10pm.
