IPSWICH Jets head coach Tye Ingebrigtsen has extended his time at the helm another year as the club experiences a remarkable turnaround in the 2025 Hostplus Cup.
The Jets are a revitalised team under his leadership, after he took over the role midway through the 2024 season.
Ingebrigtsen said he would bring some flair back to the Jets attack and planned to instil a new culture and playing style.
He has delivered, with his team winning five of its last seven games in 2024.
With 12 rounds played this season, the Jets sit fifth with seven wins from 11 games.
Notable victories include a dominant 34-20 win over rivals Brisbane Tigers, a thrilling 28-24 win over the Tweed Seagulls in Round 4, and a commanding 42-12 triumph against the Western Clydesdales in Round 11.
Statistically, the Jets have been impressive, fifth in points scored (264), and second in completed sets with 77 per cent.
When it comes to kicking, the squad is elite and ranked second in total kicks (184) and total kick metres (4724).
With nine games left of the season, only two of those are against teams higher on the ladder – the top tier Norths Devils at home and the third-placed Burleigh Bears on the road.
The three other road trips include a trip over the range to take on the Western Clydesdales and the dreaded trip to Port Moresby to clash with the PNG Hunters.
Four more home games in front of the faithful at North Ipswich Reserve are against the Tigers (9th), Capras (14th), Dolphins (6th) and Falcons (7th).
As the season progresses, the Jets aim to maintain their upward trajectory and secure a spot in the finals. With a rejuvenated squad and a committed coaching staff, the future looks promising. Fans are encouraged to support the team as it continues its pursuit of success in the 2025 Hostplus Cup.
