BROTHERS Leagues Club continues to kick goals in the field of flavour, and serves up reasons for the faithful to keep coming back with its latest Meal of the Month once again getting player-of- the-match honours.

On the menu is a generous plate of Slow Cooked BBQ Pork Ribs with chips, slaw and corn on the cob – the kind of dish that demands you roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

Those who know me, or have read my reviews before, know how highly I rate American BBQ.

Catering Manager Neil Smith clearly shares the same passion, delivering on one of my personal favourites with his own Brothers twist.

The ribs arrive glazed in a smoky-sweet barbecue sauce that clings to the meat without overpowering it. The pork has been cooked low and slow, so it’s tender enough to fall from the bone with little more than a nudge of the fork, yet still holds that satisfying chew you want from a good rib.

The sides are no afterthought, either. The crisp, lightly dressed slaw adds freshness and crunch, balancing out the richness of the meat.

Golden, hearty chips bring that classic comfort-food element, while the charred corn on the cob provides simple sweetness and a little smokiness of its own.

Value is another big tick. The portion size is generous, easily satisfying a hungry diner, and the flavours are the kind that keep people coming back. Pair it with a cold drink and the laid-back atmosphere of Brothers, and you’ve got a meal that feels like a treat without needing a special occasion.

The Slow Cooked BBQ Pork Ribs aren’t just a Meal of the Month – they’re a reason in themselves to head to Brothers and enjoy a classic cooked with care and flavour.

Brothers Leagues Club Ipswich is located at 20 Wildey St, Raceview, and serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Monday to Friday from 11.30am-2pm and 5.30-8.30pm, with extended dinner to 9pm on Fridays, and all-day dining on weekends: Saturday 11.30am-9pm and Sunday 11.30am-8.30pm.
