THIS weekend is finals fever for Ipswich Jets supporters, with the men in the HostPlus Cup semi-finals and the women in the elimination finals.

The Jets take on Wynnum Manly Seagulls this Sunday at to BMD Kougari Oval at 2.10pm.

They head in to the HostPlus Cup semi-finals on a high after their thrilling 25-24 victory over the Sunshine Coast Falcons on Sunday.

The Jets had dominated the opening stages of the game but were left with a battle as the Falcons ran in five tries to level the score by the end of regular time.

It took an extra-time field goal by Jets halfback Dion Teaupa to clinch the game, eliminating the Falcons from the premiership race.

In the women’s competition, North Ipswich Reserve will host a tight contest on Sunday as the new Jets side in fourth place take on the Northern Pride in fifth place for the elimination semi-final at noon.

Jets BMD captain Pearl Tuitama said being in the final in the first year for the BMD team was a big tick in the box for the side.

“We are a new team. We are still gelling. We’ve got six girls from New Zealand in our team,” she said.

“We just take it as it comes.

“We’ll be working on our urgency and our effort. We know how to play, we just need to be more disciplined.”
