THE wait is over – the Circle L Australia 2025 National Finals Rodeo is set to take over the Ipswich Showgrounds this Friday and Saturday, bringing two action-packed days of world-class rodeo competition, live entertainment, and true country spirit.
Presented in partnership with the National Rodeo Association, this national event marks a major win for Ipswich, welcoming the best cowboys and cowgirls from across Australia as they battle it out for national championship titles.
Spectators can expect all the rodeo favourites, including bull riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, rope and tie, breakaway roping, saddle bronc and team roping.
Across three intense rounds, competitors will showcase incredible skill, timing and horsemanship as they chase national glory in front of a homegrown crowd.
Junior events will also feature throughout the weekend, giving fans a glimpse of the next generation of rodeo stars.
Ipswich Show Society President Darren Zanow said the return of the National Finals Rodeo was a proud moment for the city and a testament to the team’s hard work.
“Bringing the National Finals Rodeo back to Ipswich is a tremendous honour and a massive undertaking,” he said.
“It’s an opportunity to showcase our city on the national stage, boost local tourism, and celebrate our country heritage right here in the heart of Ipswich.”
Local competitor Jay Green from Rosewood is leading the national rankings in Rope and Tie and said competing in front of a home crowd made this year extra-special.
“Rope and Tie is all about precision and trust between you and your horse,” Green said.
The action kicks off on Friday, with gates opening at 3pm, and Round 1 starting at 4pm. Saturday sees an early start, with gates open from 8.30am, Round 2 at 9am and Round 3 from 4pm.
Across both days, the event precinct will come alive with a variety of attractions.
Tickets are available online only at ipswichshow.com.au, with single-day, two-day and family passes on offer.
