Heritage groups gather for free market day

COONEANA Heritage Centre opens its doors with free entry on Saturday as part of the Ipswich Historical Society’s market day.

Market stalls will include Imbibis Distillery, Hobbit Hole Coffee, Grumpy Grandpas and Ladies Woodworkers, Valknut Meadery, Walloon Gold Honey, The Crooked Broom, Riverview Neighbourhood Watch, Vintage Sips, Queensland Metal Artisans Collective, Spinners, Weavers, Fibre Artisans, Ipswich Genealogical Society, Ipswich Historical Society, Bremer Waters Village and the Mobile Police Beat.

A range of items from historical books to Viking-style ceramics and a variety of food and drinks will be available to buy.

Free entry on the day also includes access to the museum, Jim Donald House and Cooneana Homestead as well as displays in the beautiful grounds.

The market day runs from 9am to 1pm at Cooneana Heritage Centre, 1041 Redbank Plains Rd, New Chum.
