WOLF Creek (9:5-0-1) has exploded onto the Queensland racing landscape with the force of a sprinter who knows exactly where he’s headed – straight to the top.

His latest performance didn’t just underline his rising-star status; it cemented it.

The Tony Brett-trained speedster obliterated the 300m Q Straight track record scorching the sand in a dazzling 16.28. It was the kind of run that doesn’t just win races – it resets expectations.

The record-breaking effort was Wolf Creek’s fifth victory from just nine starts, further proof of the enormous talent the Bernardo x Wolf Steele youngster possesses. With $15,750 already in the bank and a 56 per cent strike rate, he’s building a profile that suggests the best is still ahead.

Quality clearly runs deep in the litter of six. Kennelmate and sister Got This Girls (10:5-0-1) has already amassed an impressive $31,915, while another sister, Oxidisation (26:11-5-2), continues to shine for Greenbank trainer John Catton with more than $30,730 in prizemoney. Wolf Creek is in elite company – and he’s matching it.

Momentum has been building for weeks. Before smashing the Q Straight record, Wolf Creek delivered a dominant 8.75-length demolition over 352m at The Q, stopping the clock in 19.08. Earlier in the season, he showcased his versatility with sharp wins over 457m, including a slick 25.54 back in May.

Even when beaten, he has stood tall against tough fields and varied track conditions.

But back on the straight, Wolf Creek is pure electricity. His latest romp was a masterclass in raw acceleration and professional polish, powering 5.25 lengths clear of Scotch You as the irresistible $1.15 favourite.

For Brett and connections, the performance confirmed that this dog has elite short-course weapons and a ceiling that’s still rising.

Indications are that Wolf Creek may rewrite more records before he’s done.
