A HUGE range of events are bringing festive cheer to every corner of the city, with carols in Springfield Central, Raceview, Ripley, Brassall, Rosewood and Marburg.
The lighting of the City Christmas Tree in d’Arcy Doyle Place takes place tonight, November 27, to kick off the festivities.
Ipswich Central will be a hive of festive activity with markets, galleries and performances.
Those watching the City Christmas Tree lighting can head over to the historic Top of Town for the “Light Up the Night” Markets on Brisbane St to kickstart the present shopping that same evening.
The Santa’s Sugar Plum Pop-Up market at ARTtime Gallery, open Wednesdays to Fridays from December 5-26, and Top of Town Christmas Shopping Night on December 6 will ensure Brisbane St is full of Christmas merriment.
Ipswich Civic Centre will bring joy to the world with Frantic, Festive Frolics and Stitch in the ’Swich: Christmas Comedy Special – on Wednesday, December 10 and Friday, December 12.
The Ipswich Showgrounds has the Enchanted Christmas Twilight Event on December 6 and Christmas Thrifty Threads Preloved Market on December 14.
Springfield Central will be at the heart of Christmas celebrations in the eastern suburbs with the Orion Twilight Christmas Markets on December 23.
Springfield Central Library and Redbank Plaza Library will also play a big role with the Council’s Letters to Santa program.
The Springfield Carols in Springfield Central are back on December 13 in Robelle Domain.
There will be live music, including your favourite carols, food trucks, a fireworks display and market stalls.
The Raceview Community Carols Under the Big Tree return for another year as the iconic fig tree on Wildey St is lit up on December 7.
In Ripley, the Cityhope Church Christmas Tree Lighting Festival on the same evening will bring family and friends together for carols and other live music, kids’ activities, festive food and the lighting of the tree.
Whitehill Church Carols in Raceview on December 14 will feature a night of carolling, entertainment and a fireworks display.
The spirit of Christmas will be on full display with the Ulysses Club Annual Ipswich Toy Run on December 14 as they journey from Brassall Shopping Centre to Ipswich Showgrounds.
A live orchestra and local performers will be among those to grace the stage at Sutton Park for Brassall Christmas in the Park tomorrow night, November 28.
The Rosewood Christmas Festival on December 12 and Marburg Community Carols Evening on December 14 are both much-loved events and will bring the festive cheer to the city’s rural communities.
The Soul Nook in Marburg will be getting into the festive spirit with the return of their markets full of preloved items, while Santa will be stopping by EWE Nique Hobby Farm in Haigslea on December 14.
