THERE’S something special about turning 50 – and in 2026, Probus South Pacific Limited is doing it in style.

Across Australia, Probus is celebrating five decades of bringing people together through friendship, fun and shared experiences.

From humble beginnings in 1976, Probus has grown into a vibrant network of more than 90,000 members across 1300 clubs – each one shaped by the people and personalities of its local community.

Right here at home, the Goodna-Springfield Probus Club is proudly joining the golden anniversary celebrations, while also marking its own 17th year of connecting locals. And it’s not letting the moment pass quietly.

Members are planning a calendar of special events throughout the district, including a celebratory luncheon, relaxed morning teas and enjoyable outings designed to bring people together and create lasting memories.

“Probus is about friendship and staying connected; conversation and enjoying life together,” Club President Robyn Girdler said.

That sense of belonging is at the heart of Probus. Each club is run by its members, meaning activities are shaped by local interests – whether that’s social get-togethers, guest speakers, day trips or community involvement.

If you’re retired or semi-retired and looking to expand your social circle, rediscover hobbies or simply share a laugh over a cuppa, Goodna-Springfield Probus would love to welcome you.
