DETECTIVES from Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch have charged two men following a number of robbery and attempted robbery offences across Ipswich and Brisbane earlier this month.
Police will allege around 6.30pm on 5 March two men entered a convenience store on Redbank Plains Road in Redbank Plains threatening an employee for cash before they were interrupted by another person and left the scene.
Around 8.20pm on 6 March, two men allegedly entered a convenience store on Beaudesert Road at Calamvale and threatened an employee for cash before leaving the scene. Then around 10pm the men stole cash and cigarettes from an Alawoona Street convenience store at Redbank Plains.
Police will further allege around 8.40pm on 10 March the men stole cigarettes from a convenience store on Fairfield Road at Yeronga, before travelling to a convenience store on Indooroopilly Road at Taringa where they stole cash and cigarettes.
Then on 12 March, the men entered a liquor store on Mt Juillerat Drive at Redbank Plains allegedly threatening an employee and stealing cash before travelling to a convenience store on Alawoona Street in Redbank Plains where they stole cash.
A 24-year-old Rocklea man and a 27-year-old Redbank Plains man have both been charged with seven counts of robbery.
Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on 1 April.
Investigations continue.
Operation Yankee Forge is a six-month, district led statewide initiative targeting high harm and high volume offences, including unlawful use of motor vehicles, unlawful entry and robbery.
The operation will enhance policing activities across Queensland to reduce victim numbers and strengthen community safety.
