Nine Entertainment has secured a major new five-year broadcast agreement with Netball Australia, locking in the future of the sport across free-to-air and streaming platforms from 2027.

The deal will see Nine Entertainment Co. take control of all broadcast and streaming rights to the Suncorp Super Netballcompetition, all international matches involving the Australian Diamonds, and the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027.

Matches will be available live across Nine’s platforms, including 9Now and Stan Sport, alongside free-to-air coverage on the 9Network.

The agreement includes select Super Netball matches each round on free-to-air television, every Finals Series match, all Diamonds internationals, and key fixtures from the 2027 World Cup, including the semi-finals and final.

The partnership represents a significant expansion of Nine’s sporting portfolio and reinforces its growing investment in women’s sport, as audience demand, attendance and commercial backing continue to rise both in Australia and globally.

Nine’s Managing Director of Streaming and Broadcast, Amanda Laing, said the deal reflects the network’s strategy to focus on sports with deep national connection, describing netball as a game embedded in communities across schools, suburbs and regional areas.

Netball Australia Chair Liz Ellis said the agreement signals strong alignment between the organisation’s vision for the sport and Nine’s commitment to showcasing Australian content, while CEO Stacey West said fans had consistently called for greater access to matches and content.

She noted that the ability for audiences to watch and celebrate the sport together plays a crucial role in strengthening connections between fans and athletes.

The addition of netball further cements Nine’s position as a leading destination for live sport in Australia, complementing an already extensive portfolio that includes rugby league, rugby union, football, basketball and tennis, along with a growing suite of women’s competitions such as the WTA Tour, NRLW and WNBL.

The agreement is expected to provide a larger platform for the sport, its athletes and commercial partners as netball enters a new phase of growth.

Further broadcast details and scheduling are set to be announced closer to the deal’s commencement in 2027
