THE Ipswich Eagles were flying high at Limestone Park on Friday night, swooping on Alexandra Hills in a dominant 158-point QFA Division 3 Brisbane South victory.
The home side produced a four-quarter masterclass, booting 25 majors and 15 behinds (165) to Alexandra Hills’ single goal and single behind (7) in one of the most emphatic wins of the season.
Ipswich’s attack was spearheaded by vice-captain Kodie Betzold, who booted seven goals in a best-on-ground display.
The Eagles now play UQ Bulldogs at Oakman Park on Friday afternoon with kick-off at 7.30pm.
The Collingwood Park Power flew out of the blocks at Glenlogan Park on Friday night, but it was Jimboomba who had the final say, storming home to claim a 13-point victory in Round 5 of the QFA Division 3 Brisbane South competition.
The Power looked in control early, 32 to 13 at quarter-time, before Jimboomba gradually worked their way back into the contest and finished strongly to secure a 68-55 win.
The Power host Beenleigh Buffaloes at Redbank Plains Recreational Reserve tomorrow night, with kick-off at 7.30pm.
