IF there is one thing food lovers are passionate about, it is a good burger.

When Local Ipswich News launched the Best of Ipswich burger competition as part of the hugely popular Roamin Rowan series earlier this year, hundreds of votes stacked up from across the region as locals grilled the competition and weighed in on their favourite burger destination.

Emerging as the clear winner was Goodna favourite Just Poppy’s, a family-owned burger shop that has quietly built a loyal following through generous portions, fresh ingredients and a menu that is simply bun-believable.

Located in Queen St, Goodna, Just Poppy’s has become something of a local institution, attracting customers from across Ipswich and beyond who are prepared to travel the extra mile to get their hands on one of its towering creations.

What sets Just Poppy’s apart is its commitment to variety. Rather than serving up the same old menu, the team continues to beef up its offerings with dozens of creatively named burgers ranging from classic combinations to adventurous creations loaded with halloumi, avocado, pineapple, sweet potato, bacon, eggs and even cooked banana.

The names are just as memorable as the burgers themselves. Customers can sink their teeth into options such as the Hangover Burger, Morning Glory, T-Rex, Flood It and Super Biff, each one stacked with its own unique personality and flavour-packed punch.

For many customers, however, the appeal goes beyond the menu. Just Poppy’s has earned a reputation for serving substantial meals that deliver real value for money and satisfy even the hungriest appetites.

Its reputation now extends well beyond the Ipswich region. Recently, Just Poppy’s finished runner-up in a statewide Best of Queensland competition. But while Queensland may have handed the top gong elsewhere, Ipswich locals are well sourced to decide the truth.

In Ipswich, the result is well and truly cooked.

For the people who matter most, the customers, Just Poppy’s remains the undisputed big cheese, top bun and reigning king of burgers.
