Ipswich born and raised, Jodi Bowen began painting and drawing while at primary school, where she attended group art classes as an extra-curricular activity.
She continued studying art throughout high school and completed art as part of her Year 12 studies.
Although having no formal qualifications in fine art, Jodi does hold a bachelor’s degree in vocational education, a Master’s degree in Learning Innovation and Futures and a trade certificate in hairdressing.
She has completed practical workshops in visual arts and ceramics, and continues to learn through workshops, practice and networking with artists.
Inspired by many factors, including animals and the way they can appear to show human-like emotion, personality and story, Jodi’s work often combines animals, people, place, nature and colour to create imaginative narratives.
Jodi has work available at the Limestone Gallery and the Kalbar Gallery and takes part in pop-up events throughout the year in Ipswich and Marburg and continues to exhibit regularly through various group exhibitions.
