THE Garrett Advancing Motion Brisbane Jamboree has been run and done for 2022 under perfect skies complete with plenty of on and off-track action.
The first event in three years without restrictions with a big crowd of racers, fans, teams and crew travelling to Willowbank Raceway for three days of import testing followed by a solid two days of action packed racing.
The first day kicked off with the Shannon’s Insurance Show N Shine with over 80 of the country’s tidiest modified and restored classic sports cars from show-stopping RX3s to modern FD Rx7s gracing the grassy viewing compound.
The sound-off competition bought to Jamboree by BoomKings really turned it on for the fans with record entries in this year’s battle.
There were categories for everyone no matter how many subs or amps you had in your car.
Jamboree wouldn’t be Jamboree without beautiful ladies.
The weekend saw 18 of South East Queensland’s finest battling it out in the Babe and Bikini comps with some fresh faces in the top three alongside a few regulars still showing that they have what it takes.
On track Jamboree had more than 165 entries in 12 brackets from Precision Turbo Factory Xtreme through to MTQ Engine Systems Street Compact, with plenty of stand outs in each category making for an exciting weekend of rivalries, upsets and surprises.

The bracket had over a dozen entries at the event with a few casualties over the event including a mammoth crash from Tony Wedlock in his Solara on Saturday night.
Collin Wilshire running consistent low six second passes in his Jett Racing Mitsubishi Eclipse and taking out the win for the event.

PRO TURBO
There was a few new names in the mix for Pro Turbo with regular All Motor entrant Tony Goo-derham stepping up to the class in his Suzuki Swift. Iconic and one of the most known cars in the bracket was VL GOD with Anthony Maatouk behind the wheel, it’s always going to be on rails and that was no dif-ferent in the finals taking the win with an incredible driving job from Gary Halpin in the Nissan-powered Datsun 1200 Coupe.
USA PRO MOD
Pro Mod is really taking shape in Australia with big names coming into the bracket! It’s the fastest & quickest bracket run at the Jamboree events and is definitely one to keep an eye on! Paul Canulli took the win in his Super-charged Mustang over Neil Murphy.
STREET 289
In the finals it was local vs local – Scott Hoffman vs Teejay Graham. Hoffman having to page up the boost setting on the Co-rolla might have been just a little too much with the old girl lifting the wheels coming towards the wall and having to back off giving the win to Teejay with an impressive 8.764 at 172mph.
MODIFIED 10.5
The Modified 10.5 class was dominated with VL’s and to no surprise they ticked the boxes for Top Qualifier, Top Speed and also Low ET. The stand out of the event was when George Josevski’s con-verter let go with a mega fireball alongside Adam Popovic who did one of the biggest wheelies of the event right next to the ex-plosion. Popovic ended up taking the win in MTF with Giovani Inturrisi coming runner up with an 8.6 at 113mph.
MODIFIED COMPACT
Nathan Peters in his show stopping Purple VC Valiant Modified Compact had one of the biggest and heaviest cars at the event and man-aged to make it all the way to finals. Only to be pipped at the post by Jamboree regular Ben Clarke in his VL Turbo with a 9.663 at 142mph. Number 1 qual-ifier, Luke Redman, was a new face to the event in a Toyota Corona running an 8.366 at 162mph.
GTR SHOOTOUT
The Shoot Out showcased how much Australia is pushing the RB scene with the fastest GTR’s in the world putting on a crazy wheel stand fest for the race fans. Robert Marjan took out the title of Quickest GT-R from the meeting.
J275
Mix of everything from Holden’s to Fords, Maz-da’s to Toyotas and it stayed that way over the whole event chopping and changing who was on top of the board. Steve Bezzina taking the win with a 6.9 at 209mph pass.
ALL MOTOR
Nick Jack from Bullet Proof Diesel threw down the cash to encourage the All Motor guys to see who really is the best in the class. Willowbank regular Jason Stoodley’s experience of the iconic Ipswich quarter mile handed him the win with an 11.703 at 114mph.
STREET COMPACT
Ray Box taking the win in the MTQ Engine Systems Street Compact with a 12.05 at 92 MPH.
