DRIVER’S NIGHTMARE: The Logan Motorway intersection with the Centenary Highway adds more than 10 minutes to every driver’s commute at peak hour

EVERY weekday morning and night the Centenary Highway and Logan motorway interchange becomes a parking lot.

As more and more start calling the southern suburbs of Springfield and Ripley home so naturally do the numbers of commuters.

The lack of foresight by successive governments has meant that while the homes were getting built the roads were never upgraded.

They were forgotten and the result has been traffic chaos and driver frustrations.

State Member for Jordan, Charise Mullen, has been across the traffic nightmare and has been pushing for funding to fix the issue.

A dribble has finally come through and roadworks have started.

Will it fix the problem? Time will tell, but for those who crawl through this section each day it can’t come quick enough.

Ms Mullen said she will be pushing for more funding for this road blackspot.

Motorists are wondering how many years it will take for that to happen.
