JORDYN MILLS
I’VE always believed that the best way to recommend a destination is to experience it for yourself, so when I had the opportunity to travel through Canada with APT last month I knew I was in for something special.
Working in travel at Helloworld Travel Booval in Booval Fair, I’m lucky enough to talk to clients every day about incredible destinations, but experiencing Canada firsthand gave me a whole new appreciation for just how extraordinary this country really is.
From the moment my journey began, I understood why Canada sits so high on so many travellers’ wish lists.
The Rockies are simply breathtaking – there is something incredibly humbling about standing beneath towering mountains looking across brilliant turquoise lakes. Everywhere I looked felt like a postcard.
One of the absolute highlights of my trip was travelling aboard the Rocky Mountaineer in Gold Leaf Service.
Sitting comfortably behind the panoramic glass windows, watching the Canadian wilderness unfold around me, was one of those travel experiences where you find yourself thinking, I really am here.
And then came Lake Louise.
Staying at the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was a standout moment of the journey. The setting is extraordinary, and waking up surrounded by such magnificent scenery made the accommodation feel like part of the experience rather than simply somewhere to stay.
What I particularly loved about travelling with APT was how effortless the journey felt. So much had been taken care of, allowing me to concentrate on enjoying Canada rather than worrying about the logistics.
With 23 meals included, transfers, porterage and gratuities covered, plus the support of an experienced APT Tour Director, everything felt incredibly well organised.
There were also plenty of opportunities to experience Canada beyond the obvious highlights.
Meeting a Mountie in Banff, learning about the natural history of Lake Louise with a Mountain Heritage Guide, visiting the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre and enjoying before-hours access to The Butchart Gardens were all wonderful additions to the journey.
The Freedom of Choice experiences were another feature I appreciated – having the opportunity to choose experiences along the way meant the itinerary never felt one-dimensional.
As someone who works at Helloworld Travel Booval, I’m constantly helping clients decide which tour, destination or travel style is right for them.
After experiencing this journey myself, I can honestly say that APT has created something exceptional.
My September 2026 Canadian adventure reminded me why I love travel in the first place.
Canada left me inspired, amazed and already dreaming about my next visit.
And if you’re considering Canada, my advice from one traveller to another is simple: put the Rockies on your list, and experience them with APT & Book with Helloworld Travel at Booval Fair.
