THE Brisbane Lions’ historic three-peat celebrations turned into an emotional plea for Chris Fagan to stay at the helm, as thousands of fans chanted “One More Year” during a huge premiership homecoming at Riverstage.
About 3500 Lions faithful packed Brisbane’s Riverstage on Tuesday to welcome home their premiership heroes following another unforgettable AFL Grand Final triumph and a third consecutive flag.
Coach Fagan received arguably the biggest roar of the day when Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner presented him with the keys to the city in recognition of the Lions’ extraordinary achievement.
Players took to the Riverstage with the premiership silverware as supporters decked out in maroon, blue and gold celebrated another chapter in what has become a golden era for the club.
Families and lifelong Lions supporters packed the venue, cheering their premiership heroes and reliving the moments that delivered Brisbane another flag and cemented the team’s place in AFL history.
