Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) is all set to unleash a Home for Christmas adoption sale that will allow you to make Santa’s nice list. Until 24 December, we invite the Ipswich community to unwrap the gift of love and adopt a furry friend this festive season.

In the spirit of the season, AWLQ is decking the halls with barks and meows, aiming to find loving homes for close to 200 animals in need across all AWLQ Animal Rehoming Centres.

You could be the Santa Paws these adorable pets have been waiting for! During the Home for Christmas adoption sale, AWLQ is making it easier than ever to bring home a new furry family member and spreading cheer with special Christmas pricing.

Cat adoptions, usually $180, are now $29 – a deal so good, it would make The Grinch happy! Dog adoptions receive a generous discount from $400 to just $99, making it a festive season to remember for both you and your potential new pup.

Home for Christmas is more than just a Christmas promotion; it’s a lifeline for these pets, ensuring they find a happy new home before Santa visits. Without your support, the number of animals in AWLQ’s care could be as overwhelming as trying to untangle Christmas lights. On average, AWLQ has 1,145 stray and homeless animals in their care every day.

Craig Montgomery, AWLQ spokesperson, said the reduced adoption fees are the perfect gift for the whole community. “It’s an opportunity to give these animals the best gift they could ever receive – a loving new home.

“The reduced adoption fees are a special treat for our community, making it easier than ever to adopt a wonderful furry companion,” said Craig. “We encourage everyone to participate in this heart-warming experience and help us make this Christmas a truly special one for our furry friends in need.”

Don’t miss the chance to make this festive season extra special by adopting a furry friend during the Home for Christmas adoption sale. Join AWLQ as they spread Christmas cheer, one wagging tail and a happy purr at a time.

AWLQ’s standard adoption processes still apply, and all cats and dogs are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed. Visit www.homeforchristmas.com.au to view the animals available for adoption or www.awlqld.com.au/locations to find your nearest AWLQ Animal Rehoming Centre and hours.

If you cannot adopt, AWLQ encourages the community to consider fostering an animal instead. Fostering saves lives, it is fun for those who do it, and your Christmas guests have never been so cute. So, if you have room in your heart and home to temporarily house an animal, AWLQ would love to hear from you.
