BINDARRA Children’s Daycare Centre Inc, was officially opened on November 1, 1976 as one of eight childcare centres set up and owned by the Ipswich City Council.
Initially, Bindarra’s committee was comprised of interested members of the public and parents of the children attending the centre.
Gradually more and more parents accepted responsibility for their centre, and today the committee is now comprised solely of parents.
It is now known as the Management Committee and the Approved Provider, which is written into Bindarra’s constitution.
One of the highlights of Bindarra’s fund raising events is its annual Art Auction, and this year was no exception with incredible support from Booval Fair Shopping Centre, The Heart of the Community, and members of Arts Connect Ipswich Inc for donating works.
The Bindarra Art Show and Auction has always been a celebration of young artists.
The Bindarra centre was excited to announce that it raised near $5000, with funds will directly support improvements to the learning environment including, a new sustainable vegetable garden.
