RENOVATION enthusiasts across Australia are being given the chance to swap their tools at home for one of television’s biggest building challenges, with casting officially open for The Block 2027.
Nine is searching nationwide for teams of two to compete in the 23rd season of the long- running renovation reality series, with filming expected to begin in February next year.
The call has gone out for enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking Australians willing to put their renovation skills – and relationships – to the ultimate test.
“Calling all Blockheads!” the casting call reads.
“Applications now open for The Block 2027!
Successful applicants will need to clear their calendars, with contestants required to be available for approximately 12 weeks of filming.
Teams will not be able to continue their regular employment during production, making an appearance on the program a significant commitment for those hoping to take part.
Previous home renovation experience is welcomed, but both members of a team do not need to be experienced renovators.
The casting search comes as the current season of The Block continues on Nine, with hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft again guiding contestants through the pressure, deadlines and drama that have become synonymous with the program.
Where the next batch of Blockheads will be swinging their hammers remains under wraps.
The location for the 2027 season has not yet been officially confirmed, although Sunbury, in Melbourne’s north-west, has been reported as a possibility.
