THE celebration may have been a little early, but you couldn’t blame the residents of BlueCare’s Brassall Aged Care Facility for being anxious to acknowledge BlueCare’s upcoming 70th anniversary on Thursday, August 24.

All the BlueCare aged care centres throughout Queensland are marking the occasion which recognises the outstanding dedication their staff have always displayed.

Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding was a guest at the early birthday morning tea at Brassall and took the opportunity to praise the organisation for their work over many years.

“I’d like to thank the BlueCare team for their decades of care and compassion and their continued dedication to improving the lives of older people in the community,” she said.

“It’s a vital, much-loved service.”

The celebrations really hit a chord with resident, Shirley Ludlow, 93, who has lived at the Brassall centre for five years.

“BlueCare holds a special place in my heart, the staff are so kind and caring, they’re like family,” she said.

Brassall ACF Service Manager, Amrita Thapaliya said she and her dedicated team were proud to celebrate BlueCare’s milestone with the people in their care.

“Our wonderful residents are at the heart of everything we do,” she said.

“And we’ll continue to be there for members of our local community who need it most for years to come.”
