BUDDING young artists are invited to make their mark these school holidays with the launch of the Booval Fair Community Mural.

Across three days, children of all ages will be encouraged to contribute to a large-scale mural at Booval Fair, guided by talented artists from Arts Connect Ipswich.

The mural will showcase Buddy the Kangaroo, Booval Fair’s mascot, surrounded by native plants, local wildlife and a colourful painted flower garden created by Ipswich children.

Arts Connect Ipswich President Glen Smith said the Booval Fair mural was about bringing the community together.

The mural workshops are free and open to all families between 10am and 1pm on September 24-26.

School holidays fun continues at the shopping centre with Danny Ungermann from Ungermann Bros Ice Cream at Booval Fair from September 22 to October 5 with free ice cream-making demonstrations and a pop-up ice cream shop.

Families can see how Ungermann Bros create their famous flavours – and enjoy a taste afterwards.

In addition, from September 24-26, the Messy Art team will be popping up outside Big W from 10am – 1pm daily with free Buddy craft sessions.
