THE trophy cabinet at Bremer State High School needs to be expanded, with the school capturing the title at the CBSQ Sophomore Girls Division Two Championships last week.
The winning squad had an Ipswich Basketball flair with nine of the girls playing at club or representative levels.
The girls shone on the hardwood to pass through the tournament undefeated, winning all seven games.
The championship game came down to a clash against Mountain Creek State High School, with Bremer taking the spoils 61-31 in a huge win.
The title win comes off the back of a showcase from the girls at the Metro Finals Carnival earlier this year, taking it out in dominant fashion.
At the one-day carnival, the girls took on Springfield Central State Secondary College coming out winners 59-20.
The team continues to build a reputation of being able to go undefeated through tournaments and win games dominantly.
Director of basketball James Ringholt said that working with this group made him very proud and said that tournament win was just the beginning – a prediction proven correct.
“Incredibly proud of our 7-8 Girls Academy team and what they’ve accomplished in 2024,” he said.
“We are incredibly lucky to have so many talented basketball players in our junior year levels and our coaches at Bremer love getting to work with them every day.
“Our 7-8 Girls were on a journey to prove that they’re the best school team in their age group in Queensland.”
