HAVE you ever wanted to get your dog immortalised in art?

Well here is your perfect opportunity. Local Ipswich artist Helen Pilkington will be partnering with Stony Creek Brewery with monthly “Bring Your Dog Sundays”, where they will choose one of the visiting brew dogs to paint its portrait for free (valued at $80).

Helen moved to Brassall eight years ago from NZ and found deep inspiration in the local community.

She values the warmth of the people, the sense of connection, and the richness of the area’s art scene, all of which continue to influence and support her creative journey.

Helen’s work is intended to uplift and connect with people through creativity, humour, and warmth. She loves creating fun, humorous, and feel-good pieces that encourage people to smile and experience a sense of happiness.

While she values technical skill and craftsmanship, she is most inspired by art that feels approachable and joyful – work that sparks laughter, lightness, and genuine emotional connection.

Helen believes art has the power to positively influence how people feel, and this belief sits at the heart of everything she creates.

Outside of the studio, Helen draws inspiration from a life filled with laughter, family, wine, food, her animals and shared experiences. These influences are subtly reflected in her work, contributing to art that is life-affirming, expressive, and rooted in authenticity.

Bring Your Dog Sundays will be held once a month, starting from Sunday, February 22, noon-2pm.

Stony Creek Brewery is located at 88 Limestone St, Ipswich – see more about Helen at: https://www.facebook.com/HelnpArt.
