When Broncos stars Jordan Riki and Selwyn Cobbo run out onto Suncorp Stadium to take on the Gold Coast Titans, they will be showcasing some art created by three local school students.

Three St Peter Claver College students have become involved with rugby league way beyond just lacing up a pair of boots.

After entering an artwork competition, the three St Peter Claver College students Shatequa Leedie, Alkira Saltner and Joziah Seden were selected from 100 students in the Ipswich region to paint the boots and ball for the milestone round at the end of May.

The talents of the students can be seen in the pieces of art and form part of their involvement in the Beyond the Broncos Program, and highlights the program’s commitment to fostering cultural pride and artistic expression.

Last week, the team from Beyond the Broncos Mentoring Program gathered with the school’s First Nations students for an engaging workshop focused on the theme of Change Makers.

The session delved into the significance of NAIDOC Week, prompting students to reflect on its personal meaning.

The group started an interactive activity, inviting students to collaborate in crafting artworks, dances or songs that express their sentiments.
