AS a girl dad, the most important thing for me is seeing that “look” in the face of my two-year-old’s eyes.
That look of wonder, intrigue, happiness and “OMG, what do I do first”.
That look was all over her face when we walked through the brand-new kids’ play area at Brothers Leagues Club that was officially launched and opened this week.
After seeing the average run of the mill “kids’ areas” at your local pub or club – a drawing area, tiny play structure or a Nintendo from the 90s – this revitalisation of this kids’ zone will be a home run for all wee leprechauns of all ages.
Entering, you are greeted by three levels of climbing fun that leads up to a great slide that will have any kid keen to conquer it over and over again.
Fluoro coloured bordering tubes and tubes of bubble-like luminescent liquid will draw kids in further.
Projections on the floor and wall, bean bags and little hidden areas go to make up the structure.
Climbing zones, rockers, swinging tubes to pass through as obstacles add more fun to the time in the area.
The roof is adorned with bright shining stars as the four cartoon characters created for the play area will be a hit for the kids.
Something that always slipped my mind was parents’ rooms, and I have been told on good authority and experience that this amenity at Brothers is a game -changer in the region.
“Modern and not a flimsy change table in the disabled toilet – which is the norm locally,” I was told.
“I appreciated it and other parents will too.”
The play area will please the kids, but the restaurant and dining area renovations will please the adults.
We sat on one of the rounded booths which kicks up dining at Brothers to another level, making it more intimate while maintaining the family-friendly vibe that the club has had now for 50 years.
The dining area extension that also opened will offer over 300 more seats – so more people can experience the Brothers way.
Newly renovated Brothers now boasts a large and stylish lounge area with alfresco seating, three separate bars, a restaurant that redefines what club dining can be, a cafe with everything you could want and more.
The renovation will warmly welcomed and will bring more locals and visitors to Brothers Leagues Club – setting the benchmark even higher from one of Queensland’s premier clubs.
