BROTHERS Ipswich has completed the clean sweep, taking the top prize in the Volunteers Cup, Reserve Grade Cup, and A Grade Cup Grand Finals on Sunday afternoon at North Ipswich Reserve. Brothers took the win in the Volunteers Cup against Springfield Panthers 16-8. The first points were scored in the 15th minute, with Brothers five-eighth Sam Krueger crossing for a try. Neither squad could convert any of the combined six tries coming from Brothers players Reegan Orlando-Reilly (54’), Joshua Fernandez (60’), and Jayden Ziebarth (68’). For the Springfield squad, tries were scored by Dominic Mita (34’) and Makoare Matahe (55’).

In the Reserve Grade Cup, the Brothers came over the top of a consistent Redbank Plains Bears squad who led at the 43rd minute, with two tries coming from Brothers players Joshua Whitwell (47’) and John-Jeffery Wilson-Mackie (69’) to take the win 24-18. Brothers centre Tyler Rabbit was a model of consistency with the boot, kicking all four conversions to help his team go on with the victory.

The A Grade Cup Final showcased the talent-rich nursery of Ipswich, with Brothers taking the win 40-24 over Redbank Plains Bears in a high-scoring affair. Locked up 24-24 in the latter half of the game, the Brothers brought their best form to the paddock to kick away with the win. Eli Teariki scored a double (51’, 69’) with leader and halfback Taj Hinton scoring his own try and kicking four from seven attempts at conversions. In what is the 50th birthday of the Brothers Leagues Club, the win in the A Grade Grand Final marked its 30th in that league.
