MISSION Australia’s Ipswich support team has joined in with numerous other community groups in a bid to bring some Christmas cheer to local families doing it tough.
They are hoping to support 138 Ipswich families living with complex issues such as domestic and family violence.
Other groups including the CSI Club and Ipswich Assist are also doing their bit to help and are asking for donations of non-perishable items to be dropped in.
For many years Ipswich’s daily newspaper supported a major Adopt a Family Appeal providing a hamper and gifts for families doing it tough.
The Local Ipswich News has decided to pick up the baton to continue to keep this project alive.
Together with The Base Support Service, we are encouraging businesses and residents to help with a family in need.
The organisation has nominated a list of families who need our support.
None of the families are identified, but information including their age and gender will be provided.
All food items should be delivered to the The Base Support Service so they can deliver them to the families for Christmas Day.
To adopt a family, call the relevant organisations and ask them about the families you can adopt.
They will explain what is needed and how your support will make it all possible.
