IPSWICH basketball product Cooper Ward continues to make waves in Canada, becoming the all-time points leader at Medicine Hat College last weekend.

Ward, who began his journey with the Ipswich Force in his junior years, has gone to work on the hard wood, building his craft and rising through the ranks.

He served as a development player for the Force’s Queensland Basketball League team in 2016 and 2017 before taking his talents overseas.

In 2019, he attended the Combine Academy in Atlanta to refine his skills before joining Cape Breton University in Canada.

During the 2021-22 season, he played 12 games, averaging 6.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Since transferring to Medicine Hat College, the 6’6 forward has become a key player for the Rattlers.

Last month, he surpassed 1000 career points in just 49 games before cementing his legacy by breaking the program’s all-time scoring record, surpassing 1,080 points.

Ward’s dominance was on full display last Saturday as he recorded a double-double.
