THE first Tuesday in November when the Melbourne Cup is staged has become our dress up day of the year.

Last week as the Melbourne Cup field lined up for the 3200 metre journey locals raised a glass of champagne and many filled out their only TAB ticket for the year.

Every club and pub had a function and most reported house full attendances this year.

The CSI Club was just one of the popular venues alongside Brothers Leagues Club and Jets.
