IPSWICH heavyweight boxer Demsey McKean is preparation for his June 24 bout against Liam Talivaa, with both fighters set to feature on a major No Limit Boxing card stacked with domestic and international talent.
McKean enters the heavyweight clash with a strong professional record of 24-2, including 16 knockouts, reinforcing his status as one of Australia’s most experienced big men.
Talivaa, meanwhile, brings an 8-2 record with four knockouts, and will be looking to leverage his pressure-based style to upset the Ipswich favourite.
The bout forms part of a high-profile event promoted by No Limit Boxing, headlined by an IBF World Welterweight title fight between Ireland’s Lewis Crocker and Australia’s Liam Paro.
The undercard adds further depth, including a heavyweight showdown between former NRL stars turned boxers Nelson Asofa-Solomona and George Burgess.
Also featured is a super featherweight contest between Australia’s Liam Wilson and Moldova’s Alexandru Marin, along with a cruiserweight clash between Luke Modini and Peng Qu, rounding out a card designed to showcase depth across multiple divisions.
For McKean, the stage offers more than just another fight. He has followed a unique rise through the sport, turning professional in 2014 without an amateur background and quickly establishing himself as a force on the domestic scene.
Between 2018 and 2020, McKean expanded his profile internationally, collecting WBO and IBF regional belts including the Asia Pacific and Inter-Continental titles, while climbing into world rankings.
As his profile grew, McKean spent time training and sparring in the United Kingdom, including work alongside former unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
McKean’s reach, composure and southpaw movement remain central to his approach.
