Car culture, great eats, and amazing friendly service – Grumpy’s Diner does not miss a trick when it comes to delivering a unique dining experience.

Just off the Warrego Highway at Plainland, when you arrive you are met by the retro decor, and on my two visits so far the diner has been filled with laughter, happy faces, and satisfied tastebuds thanks to the varied menu.

Grumpy’s Diner was born out of a passion and love for bringing family and friends together over great must-have eats – and the packed-out restaurant shows the team have hit the bullseye with this goal.

With a range of dishes for any diner – on my second visit I tried the Happy Days Burger. A juicy home-made beef patty, partnered with egg, caramelised onion, grilled pineapple, and cheese. As the name suggests, Happy Days with this choice.

But you will not be disappointed with anything to find on the Grumpy’s Diner menu.

A staple of diner food opens the meal in loaded fries in either chicken, cheese and bacon or pulled brisket, cheese, and gravy. The pulled brisket option draws together the tenderness of perfectly cooked brisket and gravy partnered in a delightful combination for the tastebuds.

As a fan of pizzas, I also tried the Grumpy’s Supreme – talk about a flavour punch all round. With two sizes, the pizzas can be devoured solo or shared among your group.

The desserts list is long, with a range of fritters, banana split, waffles, and the diner’s Mikky Bee’s Famous Desert Calzones – all that can be said is WOW!

The diner is open for lunch Tuesday to Friday 11am through 2pm and dinner from 4.30-9pm. Saturday and Sundays the doors are open from 8am through 9pm.

Head to 4424 Warrego Highway at Plainland and see for yourself what makes Grumpy’s Diner so good.
