IPSWICH has welcomed a major boost to its healthcare landscape with the opening of Q Kampus HelloDR Blackstone, South East Queensland’s newest and largest integrated medical hub.
The centre, located at 12 Hill St, Blackstone, represents a long-term commitment to reshaping how care is delivered across the region, easing pressure on local hospitals and giving the community streamlined access to urgent, primary and specialist services in one place.
On the site of the old Blackstone State School, the historical site has had new life breathed into it with the state-of-the-art medical facility.
Guided by the vision of Managing Director Niraj Shekhawatia, the new hub brings together healthcare, workforce development, education and community services in a modern, multidisciplinary environment.
Dr Shekhawatia said Q Kampus HelloDR was designed to meet the needs of today’s families, while at the same time laying a strong foundation for future generations, ensuring Ipswich residents can access co-ordinated and patient-focused care close to home.
“HelloDR Blackstone is your local GP Health Hub, bringing together expert care – from general practice and allied health to advanced skin surgery and audiology – under one roof,” Dr Shekhawatia said.
“Accepting referrals from local clinics for complex medical conditions, minor surgical procedures, infusions, and skin cancer surgeries, our goal is to make high-quality, compassionate healthcare truly accessible for families close to home.
“Our expansion across Greater Ipswich marks another step in delivering modern, patient-centred healthcare to growing Queensland communities.”
“We’re committed to improving timely access, continuity of care, and ensuring patients no longer need to travel long distances to receive essential medical services.”
The centre offers one of the most comprehensive service lists in the region, including urgent care, general health, antenatal and women’s health.
It also features specialised services such as stem cell injections, aviation medicals and a fracture and trauma clinic.
On-site Mater Pathology is already operating, with a Chemist Discount Centre, radiology and dental services scheduled to arrive soon.
Q Kampus leaders Dr Shekhawatia and Chief of Operations Natalie Petrakis welcomed special guests and outlined the centre’s role in improving health outcomes across the wider Ipswich region.
